Advanced Dental Technology Rockville
Fast & Precise Dentistry
Dental technology is constantly evolving, and Dr. Partovi loves this. Each year brings new advances that she can use to make her patients’ lives better, whether they allow her to make them more comfortable, let her be more precise, or both! She is constantly investing in our team as well as our instruments to deliver the best care possible, and you can learn about some of the advanced dental technologies in Rockville that you’ll benefit from below.
iTero Digital Dental Impressions
Invisalign has helped tens of millions of people around the world achieve the perfectly straight smiles they desire, but before a patient puts on a single tray, an impression needs to be taken of their teeth. This creates a model of the bite that can be used to design someone’s treatment plan.
In the past, a patient would have to bite into a mold filled with messy, odd-tasting dental putty. This process didn’t exactly feel great, and even worse, it didn’t always lead to an accurate impression! That’s why Dr. Partovi exclusively uses digital impressions with iTero.
With the iTero scanner, there is no mess or wasted time. A small device is used to quickly scan the mouth, and thousands of data points are used to generate a digital impression. This way is faster, more accurate, and allows Dr. Partovi to customize someone’s treatment in countless ways that simply weren’t possible before. You can see all of this in action in the video!
VPro Technology
Want to achieve your final result with Invisalign in half the time? Of course you do! With VPro technology, all a patient has to do is wear a small device over their trays for about 20 minutes a day. This exposes the teeth and jaw to thousands of micro-vibrations, and these stimulate the bone remodeling process that enables the teeth to shift. It’s comfortable, it’s reliable, and it has already allowed many of our patients to enjoy their new smiles several months ahead of schedule.
Intraoral Camera
Instead of just using a bright light to look into your mouth (and blind you in the process), we can capture high-resolution, close-up images of your teeth and gums using a device that is barely larger than a pen. This not only helps our team perform better exams, but we can even go over these pictures with you so that you gain a better understanding of your oral health and see why you might need certain procedures. Plus, we can also show how much better your teeth look after a treatment!
